A Bigger Carabiner for Bigger Rigging

The ISC KH407 Pear-Shaped Carabiner (also known as a scaffold hook) is a large, strong steel carabiner with a wide gate opening. This makes it ideal for attaching to big anchor points.

Because of its large gate opening, we recommend these for use with our 3 ply free ropes as they fit the steel eyes on the ropes. The gate closes with a two-way twist locking mechanism. It also comes supplied with a captive pin to keep cables, chains or other rigging kit collected at one end.

These carabiners are electro galvanised (zinc plated), giving them a zinc coating that makes them corrosion resistant.

Rope
Giant Carabiner

This is a huge carabiner it is recommended for the 3-ply rope on the website but make sure you look at the measurements as it is definitely not necessary to have a carabiner this big for rope. It makes your rigging a lot longer especially if you use a swivel. I bought two thinking they were just slightly bigger than normal but they are huge, so I am going to have to buy new carabiners.

Pear - Shaped Large Carabiner

This is just right for the red corde lisse I have just purchased. There is plenty of room for the rope head to go through. I like the locking gate. The small print instructions tell you how to load the carabiner correctly. Money well spent, I bought another.

Works well, but captive pin unreliable.

Captive pin has a tendency to drop out, but excellent as a scaffold hook or an aerial rope hook.
