The Prodigy Yoga Rig is a popular, portable A-frame designed for aerial yoga, conditioning, and basic moves. Rigging your aerial hammock to this structure allows you to practice safely at home or outdoors.

Safety First: Always prioritise safety. The Prodigy Yoga Rig has a Working Load Limit (WLL) of 230 kg (507 lbs) for low-level dynamic loading (static yoga/conditioning). Do not perform dynamic moves like drops or fast, swinging motions as the rig is not designed for high dynamic forces. Ensure all your rigging equipment is rated for aerial use and inspect it regularly for wear.

Materials You Will Need

  • Prodigy Yoga Rig: Fully assembled according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Aerial Hammock: Usually 6m long and 2.8m wide, with knots tied at each end.
  • Prodigy Aerial Slings (Anchor Points): Recommended:2x Prodigy Aerial Slings (18mm width, 30cm length) for two-point rigging.
  • Carabiners: Rated for aerial use. You will need one or two for a single-point hammock, or four for a two-point hammock. We recommend the Prodigyscrew-gate or auto-locking carabiners.
  • Optional: Swivel  (for spinning), Height Adjusters (like loop chains).
  • Crash Mat: A thick (20cm/8 inches minimum) crash mat is strongly recommended underneath your rig.

How to rig

  • Step 1. Assemble the Yoga Rig
  • Step 2. Create your anchor points -  Choke 1 (for a single point) or 2 for a double point) 30cm Prodigy Aerial Sling around the centre of the top bar, using a girth hitch.
  • Step 3. Attach the carabiner/s to the loop sling.
  • Step 4. Attach the hammock using the o-rings or slings to the carabiners

Tips for safe practice

  • Place a Crash Mat: Position a thick (20cm) crash mat under the hoop to cushion potential falls.
  • Test Load: The rig’s WLL (230 kg) supports low-level dynamic loading. Avoid dynamic moves (e.g., drops or swings) as the rig is not designed for high dynamic forces.
  • Supervision: Never train alone. Have a spotter or instructor present.
  • Regular Inspection: Check all equipment for wear before each use, including slings, carabiners, and the hoop.
